A Day In Makoko Slum

Makoko caught my attention on my way to the Lagos Island via third mainland bridge

I said to myself” One day, I would summon the courage and see what life is down there”

I am amazed at the fortitude of the residents and survivor attitude against all odd despite the circumstances.

These images were taken on my recent trip to Nigeria.(3-19-2011)

The little boy  was camera shy and decided to submerge into the water…..His facial expression minutes later was priceless.

Home is what you make it

One can not do it alone…It takes unity!

I love the courage and expression on the little boy. He didnt get intimidated by the size of his oppressor.
